This is a Cartographic Animation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 near New Orleans. Cartographic animation is useful for representing geographical area's. These animations shows relationships between geospatial data components, time, location and attribute and are most widely used to represent geospatial information. It supposed to help you visualize something in the maps not apparent if seen individually.
